The Messenger

Greetings and God Bless You.

Let us enter through the door.

Lord Jesus, You said, “I am the door.”

Through You, let us enter into the presence of God, and let the Word of God enter into our hearts.

Holy Spirit, we do not know how to pray. Help us.

Matthew 11:2-19

Scripture Passage: Matthew 11:10

“Behold I send My messenger ahead of You, Who will prepare Your way before You.”

God of John the Baptist, God of the messenger, God of prevenient grace, Who always goes before…

Father, I praise You for Your prophet, John, who was faithful to You

when he was in the presence of Herod and his royal family.

Father, I long to be Your John the Baptist. I pray, Father, make me like John.

Make me strong to stand alone for You.

Make me humble, that I may always know that I am not worthy to untie Your scandals.

Make me to be willing to suffer for You.

Make me willing to die for you.

Give me a receptive heart so that it can be said, “The word of God came to Gene Maddox.”

Give me wisdom so that I can tell people how to repent.

Give me discernment so that I can recognize The Lamb of God.

Give me the tongue of a disciple so that I can cry out, “Behold the Lamb of God.”

Give me the finger of a disciple so that I can point many people to You.

Let me be crucified with Christ so that I may declare, “I must decrease so that Jesus may increase.”

Give me the Spirit’s hearing so that I may jump and rejoice at the sound of Your Name.

Cultivate within me a hunger and thirst for righteousness so I can become mighty in spirit.

Let me be used to exalt every valley, make every mountain low,

make every crooked place straight, and every rough place smooth, that all flesh may see the salvation of God.

Let me give people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins.

Let me turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.

Let me prepare the way for You to enter and reign in many hearts.

Lord, here I am, use me.

Love, Your son, Gene
